Rites Wednesday For Mrs. Loomis

Resident of County 50 Years Died Sunday At Age of 77

Funeral services will be held in Osceola Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Lillie Margaret Loomis, 77-year-old resident of Clarke county for about 50 years, who died Sunday at the Clarke county hospital.

Rev. Azel L. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate at the services to be held at 2 o’clock in the Webster Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fields cemetery in Clarke county.

Born in Barron, Wis., on April 21, 1881, she was the daughter of John and Mary Gracey Goodrich. The family moved to Iowa when she was a girl and she attended the Clarke and Madison county schools.

She became the bride of James Walter Loomis on Nov. 12, 1902, in Osceola and had lived all of her married life in Clarke county with the exception of five years spent in Nebraska.

Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Osceola and Cecil of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Mabel) Winnett of Denham; four brothers, Harry Goodrich of Superior, Wis.; Elmer Goodrich of Murray and Ray and Frank Goodrich of Osceola. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a sister.
