Heart Condition Fatal Last Thursday For Murray Resident
MURRAY—Roy Earl Franks, 52-year-old operator of Franks Recreation in Murray, died Thursday at the Clarke county hospital. He had been hospitalized two days with a heart condition.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Watts and Soll Funeral Home with Rev. Merrill Mooberry officiating. Burial was in the Ottawa cemetery.
The son of James and Mary Seward Franks, he was born Feb. 8, 1910, near Peru. He was educated in the Madison county schools and had lived all of his life in this area.
On Oct. 7, 1933, he was united in marriage with Mary Kathryn Martin at Creston and they were the parents of three children.
Surviving are his widow, two daughters and one son, Mrs. Anna May Webb of Osceola, and Marilyn Kay and Roy Earl, Jr., of Murray; a son-in-law, James Webb; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Martin and Rebecca Ann Webb.
