Billy Otto Beeler
May 13, 1935 - December 31, 2017

Billy Otto Beeler, 82, son of Otto & Nina (Porter) Beeler, was born May 13, 1935 in Winterset, Iowa but spent most of his youth on a farm near Truro, Iowa.

On June 12, 1955, he married Donna Burger and to this union were born Gerri Rae Beeler (Schmitt) and Gregory Bill Beeler.

In his adult years he loved working with cattle, having outstanding success raising and showing many champions including the National Champion Heifer at the International Livestock Show in Louisville, Kentucky as well as the Grand Champion Bull at the National Western in Denver, Colorado. As President of a cattle association he was guest of the French Government attending the World Expo in Paris, France. During that time he also served on the committee to select the award winning Future Farmer of America at the FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bill had a love for music his entire life being an accomplished pianist. A life-long member of the United Methodist Church he had nine years of perfect Sunday School attendance as a child.

He will be missed by a loving family; wife, Donna Rae Beeler of Panora; daughter, Gerri Rae (Eugene) Beeler-Schmitt of Ankeny; and son, Gregory Bill (Theresa) Beeler of Johnston; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine (Beeler) Neidt; brother-in-law, LaVerne Neidt; brother, Carl Beeler; and sister-in-law, Louise (Swan) Beeler.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
