Lewis Ivan Chipp, son of Thomas A. and Emma Chipp, was born April 19, 1927, near Murray, Iowa, and passed away Feb. 12, 1959, at the age of 31 years, 9 months and 24 days.

Lewie, as he was commonly called by relatives and friends alike, received all of his schooling in Clarke county and spent the greater part of his life in that county except for the latter five years spent in Madison county.

June 24, 1945, he was united in marriage to Jenita Jean Handley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Handley of Lorimor, Iowa, and to this happy union were born six children, Ivan, Eugene, Jenita Louise, Larry Francis, Richard Lee, Martina Kay, and Ricky Lewis.

He was a loving, kind, and understanding father and husband, who had many sincere and true friends in every community where he had lived. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Besides his devoted wife and children, and a host of relatives and friends, he leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Chipp of Lucas, Iowa; three sisters, Margaret Burchett, Fallbrook, Calif.; Marine Glazebrook of Knoxville, Ia., and Verda Crawford of Des Moines, Iowa; five brothers, Norman of Fullbrook, Calif.; Urman of Osceola, Iowa; Lowell of Murray, Iowa; Robert of Lucas, Iowa, and Verlin of Milo, Iowa.

Services were held in the Lorimor Baptist church, Monday, Feb. 16, 1959, with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Interment was in the Murray cemetery.
