Walker Everett Gibbons, youngest of three sons born to Albert and Ida Gibbons, was born June 25, 1904, in Clarke county. He went to be with the Lord August 16, 1960.

He spent his early boyhood in Madison county, Iowa, migrating with his parents to Kress, Tex., in 1913. He returned to Iowa in 1930 and farmed a farm close to Madison Chapel.

He was united in marriage to Velma Iiams, Oct. 17, 1932. To this union was born one son, Melvyn W.

He and his wife returned to Texas in March, 1933, where he resided until his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Velma; one son, Melvyn; one brother, Truman of Murray, and one brother, Ora, of Wichita Falls, Texas, besides many friends and neighbors.

He was united in Christian faith with the First Baptist church of Kress, Texas, in 1946. To his Lord he remained true to the end. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father.

Services were held Friday, Aug. 19, 1960, at 10 a.m. in the Kress First Baptist church, Kress, Texas, and Sunday, Aug. 21, 2 p.m., in the Madison Chapel church with Rev. Oliver Zivney officiating. Musical selections were sung by Mrs. Clell Camp and Mrs. Margaret Allen, with Mrs. William Symington as accompanist.

Pallbearers were Wayne Gibbons, Robert Gibbons, Dwayne Iiams, Sammie Pettit, Thomas Pettit, Junior Thurman. Burial was in the Union cemetery. Services were conducted by the Watts and Soll Funeral Home, Murray.
