Page 9, Column 8Eli A. Mobley Dies Following Long Illness
Eli A. Mobley, 501 N. 2nd st., died at 9 a.m. Monday in Evangelical Deaconess hospital. He had been ill three years. Death was of cancer.
Mr. Mobley was born Nov. 21, 1878 in Madison county, Iowa, near Lorimor. At the age of 21 he went to Des Moines.
After four years there he came to Marshalltown where he became a partner with John Flitton in the Marshall Steam and Dye works. Mr. Mobley married Olive S. Flitton Oct. 18, 1919. He retired in 1931 after selling the business.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors are his widow; four children, Mrs. B. K. Pederson, Omaha; Mrs. M. M. Morison, Minneapolis; Mrs. William Andrews, Greene; and Mrs. Lyle E. Eige, Marshalltown, 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elmora Beeber, Panora, and two brothers, Ezra Mobley, Montieth, and Sylvester Mobley, Redfield.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Pursel’s with the Rev. C. W. Overholser in charge. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
