On last Thursday occurred the death of Mrs. Johnson, wife of the junior member of the firm of Cline & Johnson. Her health had been poorly for some time past and this was one of the causes for the dissolution of the firm.
The Johnson’s went to Idaho some months ago with the hope that a change of climate would benefit the invalid. They returned about three weeks ago, having received no benefit from a change of climate.
The funeral services were held at the Church of Christ last Saturday morning and the body was taken to Rising Sun for burial.

Page 1, Column 2Nancy Earlywine was born in Knox county, Ohio, July 2, 1856, came with her parents to Polk county, Iowa, in 1864, and died at the home of her son, W. C. Johnson, in Winterset, December 12, 1912, aged 56 years, 5 months, 10 days. March 7, 1880, at her home near Runnels, Iowa she was united in marriage to J. C. F. Johnson. Three children came to bless this union: Ellis, of Cascade, Mont., W. C., of Winterset, and a boy who died in infancy.
She united with the Church of Christ at Rising Sun in the summer of 1883. She loved Christ and his church as she loved her own life and to the very last she took the keenest interest in the affairs of the kingdom of Christ and her highest joy was in the kingdom’s advancement.
In the fall of 1900 the family came to Winterset and this has since then been their home. July 23, 1912, in quest of health, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson went to Spokane, Wash., and then to Boise, Idaho, returning Nov. 16.
There remain to mourn her death her husband and two sons, who were with her to the last, a sister, Mrs. Sarah Watts, Santa Barbara, Cal.; two brothers, J. B. Earlywine, Portland, Ore.; A. E. Earlywine, Boise, Idaho, and six grandchildren.
Every department of the church of Christ in Winterset will feel the loss of her helpful life.
Funeral service was conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis at the church Saturday morning, and the body was place on the morning train, accompanied by husband and son, Ellis, and Mrs. Annis Yates, Mrs. Doug Roy, W. D. Patterson, John Haines, W. D. Cline and Rev. Davis and taken to Rising Sun where a short service was held and interment made in the Rising Sun cemetery.
