Lorimor

George W. Simmerman, son of George and Pheoba Simmerman, was born in Stark county, Illinois, on January 18, 1849, and departed this life September 23, 1920, aged 81 years, 8 months and 5 days.

Mr. Simmerman lived in Stark county, Illinois, until the year 1888, when he moved to Clarke county, Iowa, and in the year 1889 he moved to Madison county where he lived until the time of his death.

In the year of 1872 he was united in marriage to Miss Clarrissa Peeve of West Jersey, Illinois, and to this union were born eight children, three of whom preceded the father in death. The living children are: Aron Watson of Montana; Alfred of Waverly, Kansas; Jennie Knight of Idaho; Maggie Norris of Minnesota, and Clinton Monroe of Lorimor.

Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his death one brother, one sister, sixteen grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Barney church Saturday afternoon and the services were conducted by Rev. Carl Brown, pastor of the Lorimor Methodist church, and interment took place in the Barney cemetery. A large number of relatives and friends were present to express deep sympathy.
