Died, at the home of her parents, Miss Viola Kalb, May 14, 1897, aged 27 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was born in Richland county, Illinois, in 1870; came to Madison county, Iowa with her parents in 1882 and lived there until 1891, and in that year moved to Stuart with her parents, in which place she remained until the time of her death.

The funeral services were conducted from the Christian church on Sunday, May 16, at 11 a.m. by the pastor, E. T. McFarland. From there a large procession accompanied her remains to Penn Center, the place of interment.

She leaves a father and mother and three sisters and many friends to mourn her departure. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their great affliction.
