Margaret Carson

Margaret Mae Carson, daughter of Elbert Edward Reynolds and Edith Arlene (Souders) Reynolds was born March 4, 1930 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life, surrounded by family, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 87 years of age.

Margaret graduated from New Virginia High School and graduated from American School of Beauty in Des Moines. She worked several years at her own salon in New Virginia. She was united in marriage to Charles Dean Carson on November 20, 1955 at New Virginia, Iowa and two daughters blessed this union, Kitty and Rhonda. As the girls grew, Margaret became a stay at home mom and homemaker, she was very active in all their activities. Margaret was a girl scout leader, going up through all the different levels as the girls grew. When the girls were grown Margaret returned to the workforce and became the Truro Postmaster, holding that position for over 10 years.

Margaret was a very active member of the New Virginia United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the New Virginia American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Neophyte Chapter #206 Order of Eastern Star and held many offices throughout the years. Margaret enjoyed needle work of all types. She often would crochet hats for newborns, they would give to the hospital in Mission, Texas when they wintered there.

Those relatives who preceded Margaret in death were her husband, Charles Dean Carson, parents, Elbert and Edith Reynolds, brother, Bob & Joyce Reynolds, and sister, Ruth & Jake Howell.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Kitty (Tim) Morey of New Virginia, daughter, Rhonda (Tony) Hayes of Des Moines, 5 grandchildren, Raymond Lee (Zoey) Stiles, Jr. of Woodburn, Brenda Trenter of West Des Moines, Bryan Campbell of West Des Moines, Michael Hayes of Colfax, Kyle Hayes of Des Moines, 9 great grandchild, Alex, Morgan, Avery, Naome, ShiAnn, DonTay, TreySean, Mac, and Teegan, brother, Ed (Roberta) Reynolds of Indianola as well as other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to New Virginia United Methodist Church or New Virginia Fire & Rescue
