Christina "Tina" Corkrean, Winterset
March 26, 1953 - December 13, 2017

Christina “Tina” Corkrean, 64, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer at Genesis Care Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December, 15, at Ochiltree Funeral Service with family present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with burial to follow in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery in Madison County. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Wounded Warrior Project and/or St. Joseph’s Altar & Rosary Society and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com.

Christina Nadine Phillips, daughter of Louis W. Phillips and Lucille N. (Salyers) Rucker, was born March 26, 1953, in Iowa City. She graduated from Danville High School in 1971 and continued her education at Youngs School of Beauty. Tina was united in marriage to Reginald Lucas and to this union a son was born. Tina later married Mike Corkrean on October 10, 1981, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset.

Tina spent 40 years working in healthcare. She was a member of the St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid bowler and went to many state tournaments. She loved sewing, doing cross stitch, going to the casino and traveling with her family. Tina loved having family gatherings and spending time with all of her family. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

Tina is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike Corkrean of Winterset; her beloved dog, Shadow; son, Jason (Amber) Lucas of Montrose; two grandchildren, Abigail Lucas and Jonathan Gilbreath; siblings, Larry (Yang) Phillips of Houston, TX; Linda Olson of Marengo; Lucretia “Lu” O’Donnell of Des Moines; Carl Rucker, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; Lucinda (Brian) Murphy of Truro; Rose (Eric) Stevenson of Truro; Rueben (Burt) Rucker of Winterset; Mary Sue Cochran of Columbia, MO; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Phillips and Lucille Rucker and Carl Rucker, Sr.; brothers, Otho W. Phillips; Donald Phillips; and a brothers-in-law, Michael O’Donnell and Wayne Cochran.
