Page 3, Column 3James Harvey Angier died at the home of his brother, S. W. Angier in this city on Monday night, October 14th, after an illness of many months. He had undergone an operation last July from which he did not recover. He was born September 11th, 1838, in Essex county, N. Y., and came with his father to Iowa in the fall of 1849. He lived in Clayton county, Iowa, until 1874, when he removed to Sac county, in which part of the county he lived until 1898, in which year he again moved, this time to Ringgold county. Here he lived six years, removing from there in 1904 to Ackworth, and four years later went to East Peru, Madison county, where his home was at the time of his death.
He was married at Girard, Iowa, July 26, 1866, to Mary Ann Steele who survives him. Of this marriage there were born three sons, Wm. Harvey, who died in 1881, Calvin Solomon who has always made his home with his parents, and Raymond, who lived in Yokum, Texas. He leaves also two brothers, S. W. Angier of Indianola, and C. E. Angier of Storm Lake, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Loraine Ames of San Juan, Calif.
Mr. Angier was converted at about the age of twenty-one, but at that time united with no church. In 1866 his spiritual life was renewed and he united with a church in Clayton county, Iowa. At the time of his death he was a member of the M.E. church at East Peru.
The funeral services was held at the home of his brother in Indianola on Wednesday afternoon October 16th, Rev. Charles C. Colby of the Baptist church officiating and the remains were taken to Storm Lake, Iowa for interment.
