TRURO RESIDENT’S RITES THURSDAY

John Archer Buried in Hartman Cemetery

John William Archer, 76, died at his farm home near Truro, Tuesday, June 16. He was a life-long resident of Clarke and Madison counties.

Services were held at the Truro Christian church, Thursday, June 18 with Rev. Clarence Moore officiating. Burial was in the Hartman cemetery. Masonic rites were conducted at the services. Archer was a 50 year member of the order having received his certificate from the Grand Lodge on March 11, 1949.

He was born in Madison county on June 27, 1876.

On February 6, 1908 he was married to Henriette Larrington in Osceola. They spent their entire lives in the Truro vicinity. He had been a resident of Clarke county for the past 14 years and for the 62 years previous had lived in Madison county.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Willard of Nashua and Robert of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Gavin of Des Moines; four grandchildren and one brother, Oliver Archer of Winterset.
