Neidt Services Held Here Thurs.

Resident of Clarke County For Many Years; Died Sept. 24

Funeral services for John W. Neidt who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, were held from the Webster Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, September 26 with the Rev. Chas. C. Miller, pastor of the Church of Christ officiating. Pall bearers were grandsons: Kenneth, Jerry and Bill Lowe, Veral and Merrel Youmans and John Freeberg.

Burial was in the Union cemetery, northwest of Murray.

John Wetzel Neidt, son of Jake and Anna Neidt, was born October 16, 1869 and passed away at a local hospital September 24, 1946 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 8 days.

He was born in Madison county near Peru, Iowa, later moving to Osceola where he united with the Christian church in 1909.

He was united in marriage to Stella May Scott on November 5, 1890 and to this union nine children were born, six girls and three boys. Mrs. Loren Youmans, Osceola, Iowa; Mrs. Clifford Mullen, Osceola, Iowa; Paul Neidt, Osceola, Iowa; Mrs. Lois Lowe, Truro, Iowa; Mrs. Francis Pearson, Leon, Iowa; Dale Neidt, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Russell Sinn, Des Moines, Iowa and Marvin Neidt, Waterloo, Iowa. His wife and daughter, Ruby, preceded him in death.

He also leaves to mourn his passing two brothers and one sister, Jake Neidt, Jackson, Montana; Mrs. Emma Franks, Spokane, Washington, and Will Neidt of Peru, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
