Calvin Christopher LeMar, son of George and Mary (Spray) LeMar, was born in Madison County, near Earlham, Iowa, September 2, 1860, and passed away in Stuart, Iowa, June 3, 1932, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 1 day. His early life was spent at home and on November 25, 1885, was united in marriage to Eva Walton. To this union were born two children, Boyd and Guy.

Mr. and Mrs. LeMar lived on a farm southwest of Stuart until 1900 when they moved to Stuart, where Mrs. LeMar preceded him in death in 1921.

He was a member of the Congregational church and affiliated with several Masonic bodies.

He served the community as assessor for many years, and as a citizen he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were conducted in the Congregational church Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. C. W. Hempstead, officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. His Masonic history was reviewed by F. H. Nolte and committal made and benediction by Rev. Hempstead, concluded the ceremony.

Raffensperger, of Des Moines; Mr. an Mrs. John Walton, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Slavens, Mr. Ben Fry, Mr. D. L. Gabbert, of Earlham; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Archer, of Adel; Mr. and Mrs. John Potter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Quick of Patterson; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Don Carlos, Mr. and Mrs. A. Walton, of Perry; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Norman of Van Meter, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jones, Menlo.

Coordinator's note: Transcribed as published. The deceased was 10 months old in the 1860 Federal Census making his correct year of birth 1859 as also stated in the 1900 Federal Census.
