Betty Frazier, 82, of Winterset, died Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Winterset Care Center North.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, at Ochiltree Funeral Service with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.

Betty Anne Stout, daughter of Orval Dale Stout and Lois Emma (Lamb) Stout was born October 6, 1935, at her grandmother’s house in Valley Junction. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1953. Betty was united in marriage with Oliver James Frazier on January 2, 1953, in Altoona. They began their life together while Oliver was serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; serving in Alaska and the Beale Air Force Base in California.

Upon returning home, Betty was a farmwife and mother; raising her two sons and helping Oliver on the farm. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset, the Good Neighbor Club and the Eastern Star. She taught Sunday school, was a 4-H leader and kept score for Little League. Betty worked for the Madison County Memorial Hospital for 20 years in various positions. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who cherished the time spent with the ones she loved.

Betty is survived by her husband, Oliver Frazier of Winterset; son, Patrick Frazier of Des Moines; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Lois Stout; son, Michael James Frazier; sisters, Donna Mae Frazier, Roberta French; and a brother, Dale Stout.
