Services were held Monday, May 13 for Melvin Green, of Winterset. He was 69 years old.

Services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Redfield, and burial was at the Menlo Cemetery.

Melvin died May 9 at the Winterset Care Center North.

Mel was born September 5, 1915 and was the son of Daniel and Bertha Green. On July 31, 1934 at Greenfield, Iowa he was married to Martha Coleman.

He was born in Madison County and lived in Stuart, Redfield and Waukee prior to moving to Winterset. He was a farmer.

Preceding Mel in death were his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife Martha, two sons Robert D., of Dallas Center, and Leland E., of Salina, Kansas; a sister Dorothy McCauley, of Winterset, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
