Page 3, Columns 6 & 7Albert Edgar Lovell, son of Isaac and Virginia Wilson Lovell, was born on a farm near Winterset, Iowa, Sept. 11, 1880 and passed away at the Guthrie county hospital, Sunday, May 27, 1956, at the age of 75 years, eight months and 15 days.
He received his early schooling in the country schools in Madison county, and later attended the 4-C’s college in Des Moines. He was married Feb. 19, 1902 to Belle Pearson at Earlham, Iowa. To this union was born one son, Albert LeRoy Lovell of Stuart.
In early manhood he was converted and joined the Presbyterian church. He farmed in Madison county until 1912 when he moved his family to Rapid City, S. Dak. Mrs. Lovell passed away at Custer, S. Dak in April, 1919.
On Sept. 16, 1921 he was married to Grace E. Ketchum at Rapid City, S. Dak and they lived near there until the spring of 1940 when they moved to Stuart where they have since made their home. Mr. Lovell had been in poor health for nearly three years before his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, one son, three brothers, Louis of Des Moines, Leonard of White Plains, Ore. And Clare of Santa Rosa, Calif., one sister Gertrude Sellers of Lohrville, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends especially among the children. His parents and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Friends church May 31 with Rev. Edna Hutchins officiating. Music was presented by Bert Russell, vocalist, and Mrs. Glen Price, pianist. Casketbearers were E. G. Butterbaugh, W. R. Hogan, Charles Vale, John Slaybaugh, George Fink and Eldon Fink. Interment was in South Oak Grove cemetery.
Those attending the services from out of town were Lou Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lovell and Terry, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wilson and Donald of Buffalo, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jamison and Kenneth of Sand Stone, Minn.; Owen Lancaster of Oelwein and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hillman of Hazelton.
