GreenfieldThe funeral of Mrs. Geo. Welch was held from the M.E. church Friday afternoon at 2:30 and interment in Greenfield cemetery beside her husband, who died many years ago.
Mary Pritchard was born in Indiana, Dec. 20, 1850, being at her death almost 81 years of age.
She came with her parents to Madison county when a child, living there until coming to Greenfield, 51 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Welch built them a home on Franklin Street where they made their home until failing eyesight prevented her from keeping up her home, since which time she has made her home with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sheldon.
She was the mother of 5 children, three of whom preceded the mother in death. There remains to mourn her loss, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Sheldon of Greenfield, Mrs. Effie Craven of Orient; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Welch was a life member of the Baptist church, attending the church services as long as health permitted.
