Clarence Richard Fritz, son of Ludwig and Sarah Fritz, was born at Winterset, Madison county, Iowa, Oct. 28, 1877, and on the morning of Feb. 10, 1931, he quietly passed to his heavenly home at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Edith C. Henkle, Feb. 23, 1898. To Mr. and Mrs. Fritz were born seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls.

Mr. Fritz came with his family to Adair County and his late home 21 years ago, here he reared his family and became a vital part of the community life.

He was converted at the age of 14 and united with the Methodist Episcopal church, and united with the local church, Feb. 6, 1910. He was serving his third year as Sunday School superintendent and he has been a trustee of the church for a number of years.

Mr. Fritz was a devout Christian and a trusted and respected citizen. He will be remembered for his purity of life, his devotion to duty and his honest convictions.

He leaves to mourn his going, his faithful companion, his seven children: Charles Fritz, Mrs. Ruby Dickson, Fred Fritz, Mrs. Esther Varley, Helen Fritz, LeRoy Fritz and Donald Fritz; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Luther of Greenfield, John of Atlantic, Joseph of Roscoe, South Dakota; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Deremo of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Ally Green of Atkinson, Nebraska; besides a large number of other relatives and friends.
