SupplementFlorence Della Person was born in Polk county, Iowa, near Runnells, Jan. 4, 1864. Was married to J. W. Reese on the home farm near Runnells, Jan. 27, 1886. Four years later they moved from there to Madison county, near Winterset. After five years residence in Madison county they moved to a farm south of Stuart and have spent the remaining years near Stuart and Dexter.
She united with the Christian church in early girlhood and has always remained faithful to its teachings. She was a beloved wife, a devoted mother and a good neighbor. She passed away on the evening of April 5th, aged 50 years, 3 months and 1 day. She leaves besides her husband, three children, Mrs. Cassie Low, James Guy and Maudie L., all of whom have been permitted to be with and care for her during her long illness. Besides the husband and children there is also one grandchild, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Low. Of her own family Mrs. Reese has left to mourn her loss, mother, Mrs. L. J. Person of Des Moines; three brothers, C. E. Person of Estherville; C. D. Person and A. A. Person of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. C. B. Osborne of Runnells and Mrs. W. H. Chenowith of Des Moines. The mother, one brother and one sister were unable to be present.
Her illness, which has extended over a period of almost eleven months, has been one of much suffering, but with all she has ever been patient and thoughtful of those around her. For the past few months she has realized that the end must come soon and has expressed herself as ready and willing to go.
She possessed the very highest qualities of a good neighbor, a kind and helping friend, and her loss will be sadly felt in the community.
Funeral services were held from the Fairview church Wednesday, April 8th, conducted by Rev. Burnham, a former pastor, and interment was made in Stuart cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
