Page 1, Column 4Agnes Valentine, daughter of John and Melissa Valentine, was born in Lincoln township, Adair county, Iowa, April 18th, 1885, and passed away at her home in Madison county, Iowa, March 14, 1926, at the age of 40 years, 10 months and 26 days.
She was united in marriage to Burtis F. Hammer, August 30th, 1906. To this union one child, Delbert Merle was born.
On March 24th, 1921 she was united in marriage to William A. Antram.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, son, father, mother, two brothers, Ed of Des Moines and Jay of Stuart; two sisters, Effie Faust and Fannie Potter, both of Stuart, also a host of relatives and friends.
During Reverend Pruitt’s pastorate she was united with the Methodist Church. She was a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge of Stuart.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, March 16, consisting of a brief service at the home at 1 p.m. and public services at the M. E. church in Stuart at 2 p.m. The music was furnished by a quartet, consisting of Mesdames Pratt and Swinehart and Messers Russell and Smith, with Mrs. Proctor at the piano. Rev. R. E. Harvey preached the sermon from Psalm 39.4 and the Rebekah Lodge conducted their burial ritual at the close of the sermon. The interment was in the new cemetery.
