Page 7, Column 2Mrs. Annie E. Mount, wife of Lowery Mount, died at her home south of town, Sunday evening, after a very short illness with acute Bright’s disease. Mrs. Mount was born in Madison county, Ia., Sept. 17, 1876. She was married Jan. 9, 1895, and died Sunday evening, October 7, 1900 at the age of 24 years, 20 days.
The deceased leaves a husband and three small children, besides a father and mother, to mourn her death. She was a faithful wife and mother, always ready to lend a helping hand, and spoke only kind words of her neighbors. This was demonstrated by the large procession that followed her remains to the Stuart cemetery, where her body was laid away to await the great resurrection morn.
The funeral services were held by her pastor, Rev. A, Pruitt, at her home. May this very sudden death be a warning to us all, and may God be a mother to those little ones left behind.
