Page 7, Column 3Mary Mabel James, daughter of Oscar and Etta Fett Vogel, was born February 9, 1891 in Madison County, Iowa, and passed away September 4, 1973 at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa.
On October 7, 1908 she was united in marriage with Blake Boyer James. One son, Gilbert Ivan, was born to this union.
She attended the Dexter Lutheran Church School and the Adair County Rural Schools.
As a young girl, she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later united with the First Congregational Church of Stuart.
She helped organize the Farm Bureau in Stuart in 1925; helped with the 4-H work, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1941; her parents; and two sisters, Pearl and Rose.
Survivors include her son, Gilbert, of Stuart, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
