Mrs. Alice Cassidy Funeral Is Held

The memorial service for Mrs. Alice Cassidy, who passed away Saturday evening in her 92nd year, was held at the Crane Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2:30, with Dr. George G. Hunt the officiating minister. Mrs. Lue Nevers and Mrs. Fred Ekstrand sang with Mrs. Dan Winter at the organ. William Walters, Baron Crane, Olan Ruble, Harold McLaran, James Gillis and Cornelius Van Brussel served as pallbearers. Burial was in the P.E.O. lot at Forest Home cemetery.

Alice A. Cassidy, daughter of Leonard and Mary Parker was born in Amity, Knox County, Ohio, April 27, 1853 and departed from this life April 14, 1945 at the Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa at the age of 92.

When a small child she moved with her parents to Winterset, where she grew to womanhood. She was a member of the Presbyterian church to which she continued a faithful adherent to her death and was ever a devout follower of Jesus Christ.

At Winterset she was united in marriage to George Cassidy, March 19, 1877. To this union were born two children. Mrs. Cassidy was a member of Chapter Q P.E.O. Sisterhood of Des Moines and in June 1930 came to live at the Sarah Porter Beckwith P.E.O. Home in Mt. Pleasant, where she was a constant inspiration and cheer to everyone around her.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Eva, Mrs. Hamilton of Toms River, N. J., and her son Robert and wife, Edna, of Chicago, and a host of friends.
