Mrs. Thomas King, 89, died Tuesday morning at the Rotary Ann Home where with her husband she had resided for the past four years.
Mrs. King, mother of Mrs. Ben Baldus, fell a month ago and broke her hip and after being hospitalized about two weeks was able to return to the Rotary Ann Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cumming. Burial will be in the Cemetery there. Msgr. Francis Zuch will officiate.
Mrs. King was born at Cumming, Ia., March 3, 1877, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Banks. She was married to Thomas King in 1899 and lived around Winterset, Grand Junction and Ames on farms until they moved to Cumming in 1942 when they retired.
She is survived by her husband; four sons and two daughters, Marcellus King, Blooming Prairie, Minn.; George King, Boone; Thomas King, Columbia, Calif. and Eugene King of Indianola Mrs. Marie McKinley of Ames and Mrs. Ben Baldus of Eagle Grove.
She is also survived by two sisters, Cora Reimans, of Coos Bay, Ore., Agnes Hamm, New Virginia, Ia., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
The rosary was recited at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home Wednesday evening.
