John F. Wager, the son of John and Mary (Lahey) Wagner, was born June 2, 1890 in Madison County, and passed away November 18, 1975 at Guthrie County Hospital at the age of 85. He moved to Adair County at a very early age and farmed and lived in the Stuart vicinity all his life.

On August 4, 1913 he was married to Ellen L. Lydon at All Saints Church in Stuart. To this union were born two children, M. Francis of Stuart, and Kathryn, Mrs. John Glass of Perry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen, his parents, two brothers, Martin and Bernard and one sister Nellie.

He is survived by his children, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, James of Stuart, Leo of Greenfield, William of Neligh, Nebraska and one sister, Dora, Mrs. Martin Lydon of Palisades, Colorado.

The Rosary was led by Father Ryan at the Link Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20.

The funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Ryan at All Saints Church on November 21, 1975, with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Stuart.

Pall bearers were William Wagner, Jim Lonsdale, Steve James, John Glass, Jr., George Glass and Raymond Glass.
