December 11, 1944 - August 2, 2017

Donna Elaine Schrodt, passed away at home on August 2, 2017 at 7:37 p.m.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, with family present to receive friends during this time. A funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, at the Ellston Cemetery in Ringgold County, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the ALS Association (Iowa Chapter) of West Des Moines and/or Iowa Public Television and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com.

Donna was born on December 11, 1944 to Christian O. and Wanda Pauline (Johnston) Walters. She was raised on the family farm west of Beaconsfield, Iowa.

She graduated from Mount Ayr Community School in 1963 and enjoyed a career in medical health information for over 40 years. She was baptized at the Beaconsfield Methodist Church as a teenager.

In 1963 she married David Schrodt and they had two children, Michelle Robin and Andrew David.

Donna enjoyed her four grandchildren and attending all of their activities. Her hobbies included counted cross stitch, reading and raising daylilies and irises. She volunteered at Living History Farms, Brookview Elementary School and Madison County Healthcare Systems.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents; her daughter, Michelle; two sisters, Cela Rauch and Anna Sue Walters.

Donna is survived by her husband, David Schrodt of Winterset; son Andrew (Sara) Schrodt of Winterset; grandchildren, Rebecca (Andrew) Rushenberg, Gracen Elizabeth, Samuel Andrew and Chloe Marie; siblings Rex (Ann) Walters of Beaconsfield, Lyle (Barbara) Walters of Apache Junction, AZ, Beth (Keith) Whitson of Beaconsfield, brother-in-law Leslie Rauch of Denison; extended family and friends.
