Page 1Hiram Hickman Dies
Hiram Hickman, 85, pioneer of Madison county, died Friday at the home of his son, Frank Hickman, in Oskaloosa. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Murray where he had made his home for a number of years, and burial was there. Howard Hickman of Earlham is a son. Eight children of Mr. Hickman survive.

The body of Hiram Hickman was brought to Murray, Saturday. He passed away at the home of his son in Oskaloosa, where he had been visiting. He had been ill several days before his death which occurred Friday night.
Funeral services were held from the M. E. church Sunday at two p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. Bellows. Interment was made in the Murray cemetery.
Mr. Hickman was born April 30, 1847; died January 13, 1933, aged 85 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was a good husband, father and friend—always cheerful and glad to see his friends.
He leaves three sons, one daughter and other relatives and a host of friends. His wife and daughter, Jennie, preceded him in death a number of years ago.
