ASBURY MATHENY DIES IN SEATTLE

Asbury Matheny, well known to many Indianola people, died of a heart attack in his home in Seattle Sunday night, January 8, according to a telegram received by his brother Raymond.

After leaving Simpson he taught school at Earlham and Jefferson, later entering the mercantile business in Kansas. About twenty-five years ago he moved to Seattle where he entered the employ of the United Cigar company, managing a string of stores in several large cities in Washington.

For the past few years he has been in retailing and jobbing electrical appliances. He was forty-eight years old and is survived by his wife and brother.---Indianola Tribune.

“Mac” Matheny lived in Winterset a number of years when his father was pastor of the Methodist church.
