Thursday, January 15, 1891Milton Himes, a man about 35 years of age died suddenly, Wednesday night, of apoplexy. He had been working in a stone quarry about two weeks ago and in prying up a big rock the crow bar slipped and let him down on the rock. He had been complaining of the headache every since.
Wednesday he was around on the streets and went home in the evening and went to bed. He woke his wife up in the night saying that he did not feel well and that he would get up and make a fire. He got up and sat by the fire some time and came to bed awhile after. Soon after Mrs. Himes was awakened by the loud breathing of her husband and tried to waken him but was unable to do so. She aroused her son and sent him after assistance, and J. W. McKinney and C.P. Lee both were at the bedside in a few minutes, but before Dr. Wray who was summoned could get there, Himes was dead. The death was caused by apoplexy. Himes leaves a wife and three children.
