Ida May Lewis was born March 30, 1877 at Webster, Iowa in Madison County, the daughter of James J. Mills and Elizabeth (Thomas) Mills and passed away at the Greenfield Manor at the age of 102 years and three days.

Her mother died when she was 14 years old and Ida quit school and went working out doing house work.

Her marriage to Albert Lewis took place November 25, 1899 in Greenfield, Iowa. To this union one daughter was born, Edith, on December 11, 1900.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son-in-law, Art Sackett, seven grandchildren and their husbands and wives, LeRoy Sackett and wife DaVonna of rural Stuart, Mrs. Velma Tiedeman and husband Donald of Fontanelle, Mrs. Arlene Bunce of Raytown, Missouri, Frank Sackett and wife Gay of rural Greenfield, Harry Sackett and wife Sharon of rural Stuart, Mrs. Vera Schneider and husband Dick of Greenfield, and Mrs. Lou Maynes and husband Larry of Malvern. Also surviving are 21 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were here husband Albert, her daughter Edith Sackett, her parents James and Elizabeth, a grandson, Earl Bunce, also two great-grandchildren.

Ida and Albert lived on an 80 acre farm in Grove Township until 1927 when they moved to California. After Albert died in California she returned to Adair County and moved into the Greenfield Manor January 17, 1974 where she remained until her death.

She became a member of the Fairview Church and transferred her membership to Clara Chapel Church.

She will be missed by many after living a long beautiful life.

Funeral services were conducted at the Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield, Iowa on April 4, 1979, with the Rev. George Thurman officiating. Organ selections were provided by Mrs. Dora Nelson and floral tributes were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Sackett and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sackett. Pallbearers were Randy Sackett, Byron Maynes, Richard Sackett, Allen Sackett, Merritt Lewis, and Terry Schneider. Interment was in South Oak Grove Cemetery, Stuart, Iowa.
