Clare Frances Davis, 91, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, IA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 11:00am, St. Augustin Catholic Church, 545 42nd Street, Des Moines, IA 50312. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to service time. After lunch, burial will follow at St. Patrick Irish Settlement Cemetery, Cumming, IA.
Clare was grounded in her Catholic faith. Sunday mass was the most important event of the week. Her life has served as an example of living and practicing the faith. Clare's unfailingly positive attitude has served as an inspiration to everyone who has met her.
Clare Davis was born October 12, 1925, in Des Moines, to Tom and Mary Irwin. She graduated from St. Josephs Academy and attended Drake University. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was married to William S. Davis on July 8, 1950, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Clare is survived by three children, Sue (John) Heslinga, Clive, IA, James (Laurie) Davis, Charles City, IA, and William Davis, Des Moines, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, and brothers Jim, Tom, and Bernie.
Memorial fund: St. Augustin Catholic Church.
