Rites for Mrs. Allison

Last rites for Mrs. Eva Max Allison, 78, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Slininger’s funeral home in Jefferson, with burial following in the Jefferson cemetery. In charge of both services was the Rev. M. Dwight Walker of Central Church of Christ. The songs “In the Garden” and “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” were sung by Mrs. Darwin P. Moore, who was accompanied by Miss Joyce Rhoades.

Pallbearers included Roy Bartley, Walter Wright, Ben Pangburn, Tom Langford, Ralph Van Sickle and Ray Davis.

Mrs. Allison, whose parents were Jacob and Eva Max, was born June 9, 1867, in Germany, coming to America with her parents when she was two years of age. Both her parents have preceded her in death.

Mrs. Allison grew to young womanhood near Griswold and was married Oct. 23, 1888, to George W. Allison. To them were born seven children, including Mrs. Myrtel Gifford of Huston, Mo.; Mrs. Clyde Barker of Jefferson; Glenn J, of Eugene, Ore.; Gail H. of Stockton, Calif.; George M. of Springfield, Ore.; Guy B. of Eugene, Ore.; and Grover P. serving with the armed forces in Germany.

Mrs. Allison died July 1, 1945, in Jefferson, leaving her husband, their children, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
