GEORGE W. ALLISON SERVICES HELD HERE

Funeral services were held Wednesday, may 2 at the Slininger chapel for George W. Allison with the Rev. Ellsworth Woods, pastor of the Central Christian church in charge. Interment was made at the Jefferson cemetery.

Casket bearers were Tom Langford, Harold Hutchinson, Francis Kious, Ross Amsden, Jim Kious and Russell Neary. Mrs. Darwin P. Moore sang “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and “In the Garden,” accompanied by Mrs. William Wallace.

George Washington Allison, son of Hugh and Sarah Glenn Allison, was born June 16, in VanWert, Ia., and passed away April 27, 1951, in Stockton, California, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Mr. Allison spent almost his entire life Iowa. In 1945 he moved to Oregon where he has lived since. At the time of his death he was visiting a son in Stockton.

On October 23, 1888, he was united in marriage to Eva Max. To this union were born seven children.

Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1945; his parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Those surviving are his seven children, Mrs. Myrtel Gifford of Huston, Mo.; Mrs. Clyde Barker of Fremont; Glenn J. of Eugene, Ore.; Gail H. of Stockton, California; George M. of Springfield, Oregon; Guy B. of Eugene, Oregon, and Grover P. of Eugene, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond Allison of Creston.
