Kenneth Wesley Harrison was born on a farm north of Redfield on April 18, 1903, the son of Jennie and Charles Harrison. He attended County schools and graduated from Redfield School in 1924, after having served in the United States Army, emerging as a Corporal.

He was married to Dorice Ward on September 5, 1924 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. With the exception of one year spent in Arkansas, they have made their home in Redfield. He spent most of 1943 in Alaska working on the construction of the Alcan Highway.

Mr. Harrison is survived by three children, Robert Harrison, Perry, Iowa; Beverly Frazer, Webster City, Iowa; and Shirlie Jones of Leon, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Craig, Kusia and Mark Harrison, Gary, Connie, Michele and Melody Frazer, and Kenneth, Paula and Kimberley Jones. He also leaves 4 sisters: Mrs. Althea Tyler of Twin Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Muriel Napier, of Albin, Iowa, Mrs. Lear Coffman of Carthage, Missouri and Mrs. Eva Leeper of Redfield, Iowa.

He had been very active in Lion’s Club, bowling teams and a close follower of local high school sports.

His garden and flowers were a big pleasure to him as were his many friends and neighbors.
