Death of Robert B. Stone

Robert B. Stone who formerly lived in Winterset, died Sunday night at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines from heart trouble.

Mr. Stone was born in Illinois but came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stone, and settled in Webster township. Later his father ran a livery business here for many years and his brother, T. H. were teachers in the local schools and county superintendent of schools.

Mr. Robert Stone has been ill since September. At the time of his death he was the principal of Barton school at Des Moines. He had held this position for fifteen years and taught at Jefferson school for eight years before going to Barton.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. W. J. Clark, with whom he had made his home, Mrs. S. S. Propst, Chicago, Mrs. J. B. Knowles, Des Moines, and T. H. Stone, of Eldora.

Funeral services were held at Dunn’s funeral home in Des Moines, Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock and burial was in the Glendale cemetery.
