MORTUARY

Mrs. Nancy M. Smith

Mrs. Nancy M. Smith was born in Coshocton county, Ohio May 21, 1846 and died in Marshalltown, Iowa February 23, 1926, aged 79 years 9 months and 2 days. Her husband, Jonathan Smith served in Co. E, Twenty-seventh Iowa infantry. They were pioneers in Jefferson township, Madison county, where for many years they toiled for the making of a living and the rearing of their splendid family.

The husband, one son and one daughter preceded her in death. Those remaining are Mrs. Luella Short, of Dallas Center, Iowa; Mrs. Lillie Horsington of Fort Smith, Ark.; Mrs. Cora Potter, of Omaha, Nebr., and one son, Bert Smith, of Miami, Florida. A brother, Sidney Smith survives.

Mrs. Smith became a Christian early in life and died trusting in Jesus. She expressed herself as being ready to go to her heavenly home.
