MAYNARD "BING" HISKEY, West Des Moines, Ia

Maynard “Bing” Hiskey, 94, passed away on
Jan. 31, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 4, at McLaren’s Chapel, with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial was held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Bing was born May 18, 1922, in Lorimor. He was a carpenter for many years and worked on many major construction jobs in downtown Des Moines. Bing was a member of the Izaak Walton League for 10 years. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Bing was very sociable and kind. He helped to organize the original West Des Moines girls softball league and coached for many years. Bing had a great sense of humor and was a very practical jokester. His greatest love was spending time with his family.

Maynard is survived by his children, Kent (Donna) Hiskey of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sheryl (Kenny) Felton of Winterset, Betty (Arnold) Becker of Norwalk and Kathy Hiskey of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Carrie Hiskey; wife, Twyla Hiskey; and six siblings.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines.
