Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 15, 1973 for Lenore Crowl at 11:00 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Goldfield, Iowa with Rev. Donald L. Forbes, pastor of the Eagle Grove United Methodist church, officiating. Interment was held in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa.
Lenore Crowl, daughter of Douglas and Rozella Arnold DeBord, was born December 29, 1896 in Patterson, Iowa and later attended the Patterson and Winterset schools.
On September 22, 1915, she was married to Herbert Crowl in Winterset, Iowa, and to this union four children were born.
The family moved to a farm near Goldfield, Iowa in 1917 and following Mr. Crowl’s death in September of 1961, Mrs. Crowl continued to make her home near Goldfield until the past few months, when she entered the Humboldt Health Care Center.
She had been a patient in Trinity West Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa two days before her death Monday morning, August 13, 1973. She was 76 years, 7 months and 14 days of age at the time of her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her children: one daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Eldon Pletcher of Webster City; three sons: Ray of East Dubuque, Illinois; Robert of Washburn, Iowa and Phillip of Humboldt, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Daisey Wilson of Des Moines, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
