Mrs. Lloyd Givan Died Saturday

Long-Time Resident of This County Was 71 Years of Age

Mrs. Lloyd Givan of Winterset, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Saturday, May 28, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 71 years of age.

Mrs. Givan was born in Adair county January 20, 1895. She was the former Rose Gladys Sawyer, daughter of John B. and Barbara Drake Sawyer. She was married to R. Lloyd Givan on June 29, 1918. Their married life was spent in Madison county.

She was a member of the First Methodist church at Winterset.

Mrs. Givan leaves six children, John and Robert Givan of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Rosalie Haymond of Winterset, Lyle Givan of Englewood, Colorado, Louis Givan of Patterson, and David A. Givan of Sunnyvale, California. She also leaves 17 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Hollen, Mrs. Pearl Morris and Dr. Grace Sawyer, all of Winterset; and a brother, John K. Sawyer of Winterset.

One daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Schrader, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First Methodist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor the Rev. E. K. Burham. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
