Ernest St. Clair Smith died at his home Monday evening at eight o’clock. He was 59.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery northeast of Winterset.
His widow, three brothers, Pros, Wes and Joe Smith, and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Danforth, Mrs. Pearl Fosher and Mrs. Linnie Banks, survive.

Ernest St. Clair Smith, the son of Levi and Sarah Smith, Was born January 25, 1875 and died May 29, 1934, at the age of 59 years, four months and four days. He was born reared and died on the home place, southwest of Winterset.
He was united in marriage to Pearl Hamilton September 3, 1912. To this union was born one son, Harry.
He is survived by his wife and son, three brothers, Wesley, Joseph and Prosper, and three sisters, Linna Banks, Mary L. Danforth and Pearl Foster.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 30, at the home, conducted by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was in the Primitive Baptist cemetery northeast of Winterset.

Earnest Smith, long time resident of Madison county, died at his home two miles south of Winterset, Tuesday evening, May 29th, about 7:30 o’clock. Funeral services were held on the afternoon of Decoration Day, at Tidrick’s funeral home and burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
