JAMES LUKE OF WINTERSET DIES

Resident Of County Most Of Life Was 83 Years Of Age

Neal James Luke, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died last Wednesday, August 17, at Madison Manor. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Luke was born at Keosauqua on January 9, 1883, a son of William and Mary Luke. For 40 years he was a county construction worker in Madison county.

He was married February 22, 1905, to Mary Huglin, who survives him. He also leaves five children, Mrs. Domingo Agnes of Orosi, California, and Mrs. Virgil Wickett of New Virginia, Mrs. Frank Binder of St. Charles, Neal James Luke of Lowell, Oregon, and Willis Rex Luke of Winterset. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Samp of Winterset. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.

Relatives Gather For Luke Services

Among those who were here from a distance Sunday to attend funeral services for James Luke were Mr and Mrs Neal Luke and son Neal James III of Lowell, Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huglin, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Huglin and Mr. and Mrs. George Huglin of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huglin and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Martin of Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Binder, and August Huglin of St. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wickett of New Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Barr and son of Lorimor.

Also Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wickett, Phil Huglin, Mrs. Doris Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Buck of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wickett of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs Dick Wickett, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wickett of New Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Mahan of Prole, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia and Mrs. Nell Harriman of Kanawaha, Iowa.
