Death of Mrs. Elvie Strong

Mrs. Elvie Strong, after a brief illness from gathering near the base of the brain, died at her home Tuesday, November 14, 1916. Her death is as a very sad one as she was taken in the prime of life and leave a husband and a small son three years old. Although she suffered intensely, those who administered every care, did not for one minute think that her malady would mean her death.

Eldora Daisy Weaver was born October 31, 1882, in Jackson township, Madison county, and was married at her home February 5, 1903, to Elvie Strong. Two children were born, one dying in infancy. The other, Floyd, is three years old. The family moved to Stuart about three years ago. Besides her husband and little son, the deceased leaves a mother, seven sisters and two brothers to mourn her untimely death.

The funeral is to be held Friday afternoon at Penn Center at the time this is written and burial at the Penn Center cemetery, south of Earlham.

Pitzer Points

Once more the grim messenger of death has come and Daisy has gone to that realm towards which all of us are striving. Early Tuesday morning, Nov. 14th, death came as a relief after twenty-four hours of intense suffering from a gathering near the base of the brain or cerebral meningitis. Six years ago, Mrs. Strong had an attack of typhoid fever which settled in her ear and has caused her more or less trouble since. Although she suffered intensely, those who administered every care did not think her malady would prove fatal. Her death is a very sad one as she was taken in the prime of life, and leaves a small son that suffers a loss that earth can not fill.

Elden Daisy Weaver was born Oct. 31st, 1882 in Jackson township, Madison county, and departed this life Nov. 14th, 1916, age 34 years and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Elvie Strong Feb. 6, 1903, to which union two children were born, one dying in infancy. Since her marriage they have resided in the vicinity of Earlham and Dexter, moving from a farm near Dexter to Stuart three years ago.

She was a member of Early Chappel Christian Church.

She leaves to mourn her a husband, one child; her mother, seven sisters and two brothers, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Daisy will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as she was always ready to do a kindness or lend a helping hand. She was a devoted wife and mother, and all her thoughts were centered in her home.
