Mrs. Samuel G. Burgett

Miss Lewisa Rush was born November 6, 1858 in Warren county and in May, 1876 moved to Adair county near Greenfield. She was united in marriage October 10, the same year to Samuel G. Burgett.

They moved to Madison county where they continued to make their home until called to her eternal habitation, Thanksgiving day, November 30, 1916, aged fifty-eight years and twenty-four days, her companion having preceded her by seven years.

To this union were born six children, John W., William L., Estella A., George r., Minnie M., and Charles A., all of whom survive here except George, who died February 8, 1895.

Early in her married life she felt the need of an omnipotent hand to guide, and being converted in the fall of 1881 joined the Friends church. Then in 1894 was baptized and joined the Christian church to which faith she was faithful until death.

Besides her family there are left to mourn her loss three sisters and four brothers with a host of friends and relatives.
