Mrs. Patrick Dooley of Lee township died very suddenly last week. Her remains were interred in St. Patrick’s cemetery on the 17th last.
OBITUARY
Mrs. Patrick Dooley of Cummings, Iowa, was very suddenly called to her reward at an early hour Monday morning, June 15, 1908, after a few days sickness caused from a rupture from which she has been a sufferer for many years.
Deceased was born in Clare county, Ireland, in the year 1840; she came to Iowa with her parents in her childhood days, and was married January 29, 1871, to Patrick Dooley. There were born to them nine children, of whom seven are left to mourn her loss, five boys and two girls, Joseph, Jeremiah, Porter, Frank and Thomas, Elizabeth and Mary, were all by her bedside at her last hours except Jeremiah who was in a few miles of the home, and Mary who was attending school at Drake university. They could not reach her until the Lord had called her to her last reward. She followed her loving husband eight years after he was laid to rest. Strange as it was, by the same sudden death, the same hour, and both at the age of 58 years.
Reverend Father Condon conducted the funeral services which were largely attended at the same altar from which she often received the bread of life. Her remains were laid to rest in Saint Patrick cemetery.
Deceased had also one brother and sister as well as a host of relatives to sympathize with the bereaved children who must say rest in peace, father and mother.
