Mr. John Long, who lived on Clanton, while going home last Friday evening on horse-back stopped at Mr. Burns’ and bought some corn. He then got on his horse to go on home. His horse reared up and fell backwards on him. He extricated himself, got up and walked to the house and stayed at Mr. Burns’ that night. In the morning he was taken home and did not seem to be badly hurt.

On Saturday he could walk around. But at two o’clock Sunday he got much worse, and died in a few minutes. A sad death of a worthy man, and a sad bereavement to his family.
