News of Interest from St. Charles

MRS. GERTRUDE GARVER WAS BURIED HERE ON NOVEMBER 22

Mrs. Gertrude Lyon Garver passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines Friday evening, Nov. 19 and funeral services were held at the Hamilton funeral home Monday morning and burial was made in the family lot in the St. Charles cemetery at two o’clock.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vincent Laurenzo and husband, two grandsons Vincent Dennis, and James Michael Laurenzo; two sisters, Mrs. Myra Ella Holland of St. Paul and Mary Etta Conn of Des Moines; and one brother, Luther Frank Lyon of St. Charles; six nephews and four nieces and many friends. Those from a distance who were here for the funeral and burial were Mr. and Mrs. L. Van Scoy of St. Paul, Wayne Van Scoy of Coffeeville, Kan., and Florence Gripp of Afton.
