FUNERAL SERVICES HELD HERE FOR FLOYD GILBERT
Funeral services were held here at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon for Floyd Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Gilbert of Des Moines, who was in the navy and was accidently drowned. The Gilberts formerly lived here. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.

Funeral services for Floyd C. Gilbert, 20, of Des Moines, will be Thursday at 10:30 a. m. at E. Carl White's west side funeral home. Burial will be at Macksburg, la.
Gilbert, aviation mechanic's mate, drowned while swimming Saturday afternoon in Lake Pontchartrain, near New Orleans, La., where he was attached to the naval air station.
He attended high school at Spring Hill, la., and was employed as waiter at the Des Moines club before joining the navy two years ago.
Besides his widow and parents, he is survived by three brothers, Eugene, Wallace and Wayne; two sisters, Bernice and Mrs. George A. Earhart, all of Des Moines.
