MILDRED HUGLIN DIED LAST WEEK

Well Known Rural Teacher in Madison County for Many Years

Mrs. George Huglin, well known Madison county school teacher for many years, died last Thursday, Aug. 7, at Mankato, Minn. She was 41 years of age.

Mrs. Huglin was the former Mildred Finney, daughter of George and Melissa Finney, and was born near Winterset, Feb. 4, 1906. She graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1924, and later attended Drake university in Des Moines.

She spent 18 years teaching in the public schools of Madison, Dallas and Warren counties.

She was married to J. George Huglin. They lived on a farm near St. Charles, later moving to Des Moines, and in 1945 to Mankato.

Mrs. Huglin became ill in January, 1946. That November she underwent an operation at the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minn., but no hope was held for her permanent recovery after that time.

Surviving are her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Earl and Lloyd Finney.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from Dunn’s Funeral home in Des Moines, and burial was made at Blair Chapel, near St. Charles.

News of Interest From St. Charles

Mrs. George Huglin passed away at her home in Mankato, Minn., Aug. 7 and funeral services were held in Des Moines, Saturday morning with burial being made in the Blair Chapel cemetery. She will be remembered as Miss Mildred Finney and taught school in this community a number of years ago.
